Customer Question

she ate part of a baggie that had dry cat food in it.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The Veterinarian will know if the dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Molly and she is 5 1/2 months old. Probably weighs 40 lbs golden doodle.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Molly?
Customer: Not at the moment. She is sleeping because she had a busy day at dog training camp

Hello, and thanks for writing in.

About how much cat food would Molly have eaten?

Does Molly have any digestive problems (vomiting, diarrhea, not able to eat certain foods, etc.)?

Are you wondering that if Molly will be OK or have any side effects from eating the cat food?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
she is not having any digestive problems. She probably ate 3/4 cup of cat food, That is not my concern.. it is the part of a plastic bag that she ate.

OK, thanks for the clarification.

Was the baggie like a thin plastic "ziplock" style baggie?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it was the bottom part of a thin ziplock baggie

OK, thanks again.

This should not pose a problem for Molly. That amount of a plastic baggie will likely pass through her intestines without any issues. There is a small chance it may cause her to vomit (in which case she would likely vomit it up), but otherwise it should pass through her OK.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you and Molly further.
