She is 16 in human years and loosing weight...a bit hollow and can feel the knobs on her spine

I"m sorry to hear of this with Mitzi. Unfortunately, there's rarely just one thing wrong at her very advanced age. Profound weight loss and anorexia aren't pathognomonic (specifically indicative) of any one particular disorder but I would expect to find a major organ insufficiency (liver or kidney failure, e.g.) or age-related cancer in a 16 year old. Mitzi's vet will want to perform a thorough physical exam inclduing diagnostics in the form of blood and urine tests. You should know within 24 hours if Mitzi can be helped. We wouldn't be looking for curative disorders but might be able to palliate whatever ails her. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
