I accidentally put Ciprodex in my dogs eyes. I rinsed them

Customer Question

I accidentally put Ciprodex in my dogs eyes. I rinsed them out as best I could and put the correct drops in. Should I be worried?

Hello, I'm Dr. Deb and will do my best to help you today.

I'm sure that you feel awful about this but accidents do happen from time to time. You aren't the first and won't be the last owner to make such a mistake!

I do have a few additional questions to ask about your dog first, if you don't mind:

1. What do his eyes look like after you rinsed them? Are they red or inflamed?

2. Is he squinting or keeping them closed?

3. What did you use to rinse out his eyes?

There may be a slight delay after I receive your answers since I have to type up a response to you. Thanks for your patience. Deb
