Kevin, important differential diagnoses for such behavior include episodes of pain and partial seizures (previously called petit mal) which can cause any combination of abnormal focal or asymmetric sensory or motor activity affecting any part of the body and which may be associated with autonomic signs, (salivation, vomiting, e.g.) and can cause a change in mentation (mental status) and/or behavioral abnormalities. Petunia's vet will ask to see a video of this behavior which in these cases is worth 1000 words. I would very much like to see such a video as well.
