Hello, my name is***** and I am happy to help you and Angel. May I ask what your Great Dane is doing to think she is constipated? Are you seeing any stool being passed? Did she start with softer stool or diarrhea?

Thank you

She seems normal....I walked her this morning and she tried to go 4 or 5 times but nothing came out.No she did not start with a softer stool or diarrea.

Typically for constipation, I recommend withholding food for 12-24 hours for the GI tract to clear itself. We have to be careful, as I have had many pets present to my clinic for constipation, but they actually were having diarrhea (the straining was due to an inflamed colon or intestinal tract). They strain to go like they are constipated, but on feeling their belly and/or taking an xray, the colon is actually empty!

What food is she currently eating? Any new treats or foods within the last 24-48 hours?
