I am sorry to hear about your dogs being bitten. I am Rebecca; I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.

Bite punctures tend to get infected, since bacteria from the mouth is carried deep into the muscles by the teeth. Cleaning the wound, and putting antibiotic ointment on it may help, but often these need to be treated with antibiotics.

Flushing with warm but not hot water, down into the puncture can help flush out bacteria. Warm moist compresses can help draw infection.
