Good Morning and welcome! I am Dr. Loretta, a licensed veterinarian and I am happy to answer your question.

These lesions are most likely staph infections. The staph bacteria is normal flora on their skin and when there is moisture and warmth, these overgrow causing these pimples. The best way to control these is to clip away the fur around them and then apply Betadine, available at the pharmacy over the counter, every 8 hrs. This will dry this area out so the bacteria cannot grow. If your yorkie is scratching at these, this will make this worse so giving Benadryl at 1 mg per pound every 12 hrs will help with this.

If this does not resolve this condition within 5-7 days, have your vet examine them to be sure we have not missed something.

Does that make sense to you?

Please let me know if you have ANY other questions. My goal is to give you 100% satisfaction and if you are not yet satisfied, please REPLY so I can clarify for you.

Sincerely, ***** *****
