Our small dog has crusty red irritations on his body. They almost appear to be in circles but it does not look like ringworm. He is approximately 8-10 inches tall and weights about 11 pounds. Thank you for your time

Rita, you appear to be describing epidermal collarettes - roughly circular skin lesions which start out as pustules and then spread outward leaving the center quiet and often hyperpigmented but the rim of the collarette can remain actively infected and inflamed. A bacterial infection (pyoderma/Staph, usually) is most commonly associated with epidermal collarettes although fungal infections and autoimmune skin disorders can also cause them.
