I am sorry to hear about this concern. With both labored and/or fast breathing and that Sam is vomiting, this is worth an emergency vet visit now.

For this breed, there is also a pre-disposition to stomach bloat or stomach torsion (twisting), which is life-threatening.

The rapid respiration could be due to the bad nausea, abdominal pain, but can't really assume anything.

Unfortunately, simply too many possible explanations for vomiting.

You can give him a maximum strength Pepcid A.C. antacid tablet, but I strongly encourage a vet visit right now for supportive care. I would not be surprised if at least some abdominal x-rays were recommended.

Very sorry that Sam is not feeling well.
