Friend, calcium chloride ingestion can cause ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract, abdominal pain, vomiting, etc. I would recommend the following:
- Rinse her/his mouth with plenty of water.
- Give him/her some milk immediately to dilute the calcium chloride in the stomach.
- Do not give things like Pepto Bismol. You can start her/him on Pepcid AC (famotidine) 10mg 1/4 tablet every 12 hours for the next 5-7 days.
- Do not induce vomiting.
- If you see any of the following symptoms have your dog seen by family veterinarian: Anorexia, vomiting, abdominal pain, lethargy, etc.
