Customer Question

I'm reading what you wrote about a dog's pain after vaccine. My dog had a bortadella and lyme vaccine today and she is in pain and mopey and crying when moving her body.

Hello, I am sorry to hear you are worried about your dog. My name is Rebecca. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help. She may be having a vaccination reaction. These usually do not last more than 12 to 24 hours. Do you think she has a fever? Can you take her temperature with a thermometer? You could try giving her some aspirin. How much does she weigh? You can give 1 baby or low dose aspirin per 15 to 20 pounds of body weight, with food. I will call your vet to report this reaction, so they can take precautions or make decisions about future vaccinations. Let me know how she is doing and what else I can answer.
