Janice, can you estimate how much of that capsule was ingested? At 0.5 mg/lb (11 mg for your dog/about 1/6 of the capsule) sedation is seen. At 5 mg/lb (110 mg for your dog/more than was in the capsule) tremors are seen. In general, as the dose increases agitation, aggression, panting, sedation, tachycardia (increased heart rate), drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, and seizures can arise.

Half at the most.

Thank you. Estimating 37.5 mg/22 lb (1.7 mg/lb) I wouldn't expect much more than sedation appearing but it's difficult to predict how any one individual will react to this drug. If it's been less than an hour since he ingested the drug, inducing emesis would be prudent. 1.5 tablespoons (22.5 mL) of 3% hydrogen peroxide administered with a small poultry baster placed between his cheek teeth and cheek should result in his vomiting within 15 minutes. If not, please repeat the same dose.
