Should a new mom (dog) be really hot

Customer Question

should a new mom (dog) tits be really hot

Hello. The mammary glands get significantly increased blood flow when a new bitch is lactating. This increased blood flow increases the temperature in the glands. The heat you are feeling is normal and expected. If one gland is hard or painful, then I worry about mastitis (infection in the gland). It doesn't sound like that is the case here. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
