Hello. I'm sorry to hear about your puppy. Assuming he is vaccinated, the most likely cause of diarrhea is an intestinal parasite (worms, Coccidia, Giardia) or an infection in the gut (viral or bacterial). If he's not vaccinated, then I would worry about Parvo Virus, which is more serious. If it's a parasite or some other infection, most will resolve with a medication called Metronidazole along with a dewormer (Panacur or Pyrantel). This is something you could get from your vet after an appointment and fecal check tomorrow. In the mean time, I would try to add some fiber to his food. A good way to do this, is to give 1-2 teaspoons of canned pumpkin or sweet potato baby food with his food. This will help firm up the stools faster. You may need to syringe something to him. If nothing works, then I would have him seen in the morning by a vet for some fluids and medications.
