Not a significant danger...10 mg/22.7 kg (50 lbs) = 0.44 mg/kg. In acute single dose studies, doses of 25-100 mg/kg didn't cause death. A dose related central nervous system depression lasting between 3-5 days was noted, however. Ataxia ("drunken sailor"), lassitude (sedation, lethargy), tremor, increased heart rate, labored respiration, and miosis (small than normal pupils) were noted at higher doses. I would expect Macree to do well ingesting such a small dose for his size. I wouldn't induce emesis or treat in any manner. I regret that I don't see any information concerning the half-life of this drug in dogs. It's quite long in humans, however - a little over a day. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
