Hi, I'm Dr. Bonk. I'm sorry to hear about Sadie's troubles. Pumpkin is high in fiber, so it can act as a laxative in small amounts or can cause constipation in larger amounts. If she experiences diarrhea, it should only last a day or two. You can feed her a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice to help her digestive tract while she works through it. Make sure she has plenty of fresh water available. If the diarrhea persists for longer than 48 hours, consider a visit to your vet for other treatments. You can also give her a couple TBSPs of plain yogurt as a probiotic. If she experiences constipation, you can give her a couple TBSPs mineral oil 2-3 times a day. Vaseline mixed with a little butter for flavor can be used as well. She could have 1/4 c vaseline 2-3 times a day. Again, make sure she has plenty of fresh water available. If there is any vomiting, bloody diarrhea or discomfort, consider seeing your vet.I hope this helps. Please contact me with any further questions you may have. Thank you and good luck!
