Customer Question

I am dog sitting my friends puppy. I think she ate a dead baby bird. She hasn't gotten her rabies shot yet.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The Veterinarian will know if the puppy will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name?
Customer: Hazel
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Hazel?
Customer: No
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Veterinarian about your situation and then connect you two.

The only problem that Hazel will have if she did ingest the baby bird is possible GI upset (vomiting some and diarrhea), but there is no danger of rabies.

She won't die right? Just watch her poop and behavior?
Expert:  Dr. Barbara replied 1 year ago.
Exactly! She may not even have any GI signs. Just watch her to make sure that she continues to eat well, act well, and poop well.

If she does have any symptoms, especially if they last longer that 24 hours, then she should see her veterinarian.
