All of a sudden my 4 year old male pug is taking short breaths

Customer Question

all of a sudden my 4 year old male pug is taking short breaths through his mouth. They seem almost rhythmic - steady short sort of short breaths.

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Please let me know if you still need help. Has buster normalized? If not, can you please assess his respiratory rate while he's asleep or, at least, at rest? It would be worrisome if he's taking more than 30 of those short breaths/minute.
