According to Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook, 8th Ed., 2015, as a chondroprotective for osteoarthritis pentosan can be administered to cats at a dose of 3 mg/kg subcutaneously or intramuscularly once weekly for 4 weeks. This is extra-label and anecdotal information from a study by Beale, 2004. When used orally in cats, pentosan seems to be tolerated well but oral dosing twice daily can be awkward. I found this Australian site by googling: There are no FDA-approved products in USA.Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
