Levetiracetam is usually dosed at 10-15 mg/lb thrice daily (270 - 405 mg for a 27 lb dog thrice daily) but it's important to note that phenobarbital may cause significant drug interaction with levetiracetam in dogs requiring an increase of the dose of levetiracetam. In one study phenobarbital use significantly increased levetiracetam clearance and reduced half-life (from 3.43 hours without phenobarbital to 1.73 hrs after 21 days of phenobarbital). Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
