Customer Question

my pug had black spots on his fur and I felt little bumps under the fur so I shaved him all over and he has thousands of red bloody marks underneath. Is it a yeast infection

Can you upload a close-up photo(s) of Louie's representative skin to our conversation? You can use the paperclip icon in the toolbar above your message box (if you can see the icon) or you can use an external app such as I can be more accurate if I can see what you're seeing. While Malassezia (yeast) should always be considered, a superficial spreading pyoderma (bacterial - Staph, usually - infection) is more likely from your description. A cytology - microscopic exam of a small sample of Louie's skin surface - looking for abnormal numbers of bacteria and yeast - tells me which infectious agents to treat.
