Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with your wee one today.

How long has she had these signs?

Are her gums pink or pale/white? Moist or sticky?

If you press on her belly, does she have any discomfort, tenderness, or tensing?

Could she have eaten something she should not have (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, etc)?

When did she last pass stool?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
48 hours,
Gums are pink and moist
She doesn't seem to have discomfort when I rub or touch her belly
I think I know what is wrong. I feed both my Beagle and bloodhound expired Milk-Bone brushing chews. My Beagle threw up overnight and in the vomit I could see pieces of the chews and not her regular Iams dog food. The chews expired 02/16. The Bloodhound is trying to poop and it is coming out as diarrhea. We have been up most of the night going outside to poop. What do you think??

Hi again,
If her diarrhea is liquid, she is straining and she has a tight belly, then a partial blockage is a concern here. Though I do have to note that we can see straining with lower bowel based diarrhea too.
Therefore, considering all her sign and provided she's not sore, we can try to bulk up her stool and help her pass anything caught.
To start, we can put her onto a light diet like rice with boiled chicken or white fish. This will be easy for her gut to digest and help if we have a primary diarrhea bug. As well, to help reduce diarrhea further and push that chew through, we can add a fiber source ( ie canned pumpkin, all bran, etc).
If we try this and she isn't settling in the next 24 hours or shows any belly pain, black stools or fresh blood; then that would be our cue for a check with her local vet. They can feel if she has a blockage and test a stool sample. Depending on their findings, they will be able to help get anything caught out of her gut or dispense antibiotics and dog safe anti-diarrheal medication if infection is found.
All the best,
Dr. B

I took her to her Vet this morning. She is still there. They found a massive lump in her stomach area. They are doing a chest x-ray now to see if their is cancer in her chest. The vet told me this is very bad even if it isn't cancerous. This happened so fast, I dont know what to do.

Oh dear,
It is uncommon to have a lump come up this fast. Still having it xrayed +/- sampled will give us the quickest answer to what is present and give you an idea of what can be done to help her.
Please take care,
Dr. B
