My 7 year old mixed terrier Stafford shire started to have

Customer Question

My 7 year old mixed terrier Stafford shire started to have urinary continence Friday evening and I called our vet immediately (that Saturday morning) to request antibiotics since they had no openings. I strongly suspect Lulu has a UTI. Then told her we would followup on Monday. I'm a retired RN and very familiar with medical Lulu is the most disciplined dog. Never had any problems. All week I could tell she seemed "out of sorts" not eating. This is the second night I've been up every hour and half because she's coming to me to go out. And continues to have incontinence. I see no frank blood. But now she is restless and shivering. I told the vet tech she better not develop sepsis. Long b4 the incontinence she has been out of sorts. She's usually very independent and comes to me if she has a need. Such as if she has to go out..or if we forget to give her a treat when she comes in after going out or we are late feeding her dinner. She's very regimented. She just came up to me shivering and has fear and uncertainty in her eyes. What am I supposed to do now. She's more out of character. Still finding small areas of wet carpet. She can't sleep. She's very quiet with a whimper occassionally...that's the sound she makes when somethings not quite right. She's acutely alert. But not able to sleep.Now..she's lying on side of our bed probably so she can urinate in living room. She's not moaning. She's usually cuddled up sleeping in our bed or her own. Can't get body temp. Can this wait. She has strong urinary stream at times to piddling.

She just went and layer in her bed. She's more relaxed but staring at me. The way she does when she needs something. Hmm...I'm definitely the alpha...she knows to come to me rather than my husband if she has a need. I went to pet her she closed her eyes. Trying to reassure her.

Is she passing small or large volumes?

When she has accidents, is she not getting out in time or is she dribbling urine?

Does the urine look dilute, normal, or very concentrated?

Any odor change?

What antibiotic was she started on?

Has she been spayed?
