Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

In regards ***** ***** question, the maximum dose depends on the dog's weight. Specifically, the dosing range of Cephalexin is 10-30mg per kilogram of the dog's body weight given every 12 hours. This is usually given for 7-14 days and if the mastitis does not settled, then we sometimes need to culture the milk to identify the bacteria present and determine what drugs its vulnerable to.

Please take care,

Dr. B.
