My English Bulldog has been unusually sleepy and quiet

Customer Question

My English Bulldog has been unusually sleepy and quiet today. Should I be worried or do they just have bad days like humans ?

It depends. It is very uncharacteristic for Buddy to be sleepy, than you will need to closely monitor him for the next 24 hours. We don't know if this could be related to illness (viral or bacterial), allergies, nausea, just to name a few possible explanations. Even if there are no other symptoms of problems, you should still watch him closely.

If it persists or he gets progressively worse, definitely worth a vet visit and basic testing should include a blood profile and urine test.

No, I would not assume it is just a "bad" day.

Hope that information helps
