Customer Question

My Toy Fox Terrier has a low grunting noise coming from his throat, and he is not himself. It started last night, although he did eat and went (pee & poop) out this am. Now he is just staying in his bed and occasionally we hear that low grunting noise from him. Could this require a Vet. visit or will it pass, like a cold or stomach flu?

Hello this is Dr. Holloway but you can call me Dr. H for short. I am sorry to hear Tobey is not feeling well. I need a few more pieces of information from you in order to give you good advice here on whether this would require a vet visit or if this sounds like a normal event in dogs.

Is Toby actively opening his mouth when making the grunting noise?

Does he seem in distress when he makes this noise?
