Just got a 10 month old cane corso last week. Noticed his right eye...does not appear to be bothering him, but what is this?? And any idea on the cost to fix?

The photo is out of focus but it appears to represent a staphyloma - an abnormal protrusion of the uveal (iris) tissue through a weak point in the eyeball. The protrusion is generally black in colour, due to the inner layers of the eye. It occurs due to weakening of outer layers of the eye (cornea or sclera) by an inflammatory or degenerative condition.

Can you try again with a macro lens? This will need to be addressed by a specialist veterinary ophthalmologist as can be found here: I can't know what you'll be charged by such a specialist so be sure to ask for a written estimate before anything is done.
