Customer Question

I HAVE A MALTESE TERRIER CROSS and I have been feeding him uncooked lamb shanks with the skin taken off and the bone removed. This has been successful for many years but now he has diahrea. HE WILL NOT EAT ANY DRY FOOD OR ANY VEGETABLES. I HAVE RECENTLY GIVEN HIM A SMALL PIECE OF SHEEP'S HEART.

Hello. Thanks for the question.

You can continue to feed him the lamb. With the lamb, you should try to add some fiber. The fiber will help to firm up his stools. A couple good sources would be canned pumpkin or sweet potato baby food. You can mix it in with the lamb so that he is eating it all together. You can put 2-3 teaspoons in with his meals 2-3 times daily.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
