You can give your dog lomotil but for no more than 2 days if diarrhea does not stop after that you must visit your vet.Let me get you a dose....

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Dog Veterinarian: Dr B, Veterinarian replied 2 years ago

He can have 1.4 mg of lomotil up to about 2.9 mg.....give me a minute and I will look up tablet size for you...

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Dog Veterinarian: Dr B, Veterinarian replied 2 years ago

So you can give him the lomotil 2.5 mg tablet ( you can get at pharmacy) every 8 hours for 2 days. I would not go beyond 2 days as lomotil can contribute to ileus ( intestines not working) or bloat and large breeds are predisposed to bloat so safest thing to do is dose just twice daily for 2 days and then stop.

Do you have any other questions?
