Ask a Dog Vet and Get Answers to Your Dog Health Questions
Hi, I can help you with your question today. Has he eaten anything unusual? People food, something foreign (from the trash or a torn up toy), new dog food?
Has he eaten any food today?
OK. I think it is important that he is evaluated by your local vet. I would start with a physical exam, x-ray of his abdomen, and a test for pancreatitis called a cPL (canine pancreatic lipase). Hopefully these will give us a diagnosis. If everything is normal, we can try treating symptomatically using anti-emetic medication like Cerenia and some easily digestible food like Hills I/D or Purina EN.
