You've described worrisome syncopal episodes. Syncope ("fainting") describes a sudden loss of consciousnes and muscle tone, usually without motor activity. The syncopal events last less than a minute (otherwise fatal); clues of a cardiac problem - heart murmur and/or arrhythmia (irregular heart rate) - may be present in syncopal dogs. Emma 's vet will want to thoroughly examine Emma paying particular attention to Emma's heart. Time is of the essence in these dogs because dogs can be lost during a syncopal episode.
