I have a diabetic dog, a bichon who was vomiting this am 3

Customer Question

I have a diabetic dog, a bichon who was vomiting this am 3 hours after her morning meal and her shot of insulin. She received a shot of cerinia 2 hours after her last vomit. I fed her white rice and ground chicken 5 hours after the cerinia. Should I give her insulin now or do I wait until her regular time in the a.m.?

Her insulin should be maintained every 12 hours. Even if she missed a meal, the same dose of insulin is indicated. After two missed doses, the insulin dose should be halved; after three missed doses, the insulin should be discontinued and her vet consulted. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
