I'm sorry to hear of this with Riley. The hallmarks of gastrointestinal obstruction and perforation are identical - persistent vomiting and/or anorexia. Riley's vomiting so perfusely will dehydrate and electrolyte imbalance him. His vet will want to provide Riley with supplemental fluids and electrolytes - usually by subcutaneous administration - and X-ray Riley's abdomen to better understand his gastrointestinal health and the likelihood of that ham bone passing through his GI tract unaided.
