I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. I might dose a dog with alprazolam (Xanax) at 0.01-0.025 mg/lb. This is most often done for adjunctive behavioral treatment especially for prophylaxis for storm phobias, etc. Adverse effects of sedation, behavior changes and contradictory responses (agitation, e.g.) might be seen and the drug may impede training.
