My name is***** and I am sorry to hear that your dog is sick this evening. Is he having any vomiting or diarrhea? Is he eating or drinking?

You can try giving him Pepcid AC tonight if he has a stomach ache. The dose is about 0.5mg per pound so a 5 pound dog will take 2.5mg.

Based on your description of the events, I would be worried about pancreatitis or possibly food poisoning leading to intense diarrhea that may start in the next few hours.

If he starts having vomiting or diarrhea or is not eating normally by morning, you will need to take him to your local animal emergency room. They will determine what is wrong and prescribe more advanced treatments for him.

Does this help? What other questions do you have?

What other sorts of medications are you thinking of?

Do you have any Tums or ranitidine? These reduce the acid in the stomach and may make him more comfortable.

You can also try feeding something very bland like fresh cooked chicken and rice or eggs and rice.

Good morning! How is your pup this morning? Is he feeling better? Is he eating and drinking this morning?

Also, if you would please consider rating our conversation, I would greatly appreciate it.
