Very elderly lab w/ very yellow, single, paw pad. She swims

Customer Question

Very elderly lab w/ very yellow, single, paw pad. She swims (indoors) twice a week as therapy. I suspect moisture may have caused recent ear yeast infection. Could paw be similar?

Hi there. Thanks for the question. Let me see if I can help. It is certainly possible that she has a mild infection of that paw pad. If you have an ointment like Otomax that you are using on the ear can be applied to the paw too. When he goes for his swimming you might want to apply aquafor to the paws. If there is no improvement in s few days have him see a vet. I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Hi David Protz,
I'm just following up on our conversation about Laci. How is everything going?
