All of a sudden my 8 yr old min pin has sagging skin on her

Customer Question

Hello. All of a sudden my 8 yr old min pin has sagging skin on her under side over her rib cage. It's just hanging down on the one side. There's no other noticeable symptoms. She just had her vaccinations a week ago including Lyme. This is her first time with the Lyme vaccination, but that was a week ago and this just began today after our walk. What do you think?
Thank you,

I suspect that you're seeing a delayed hypersensitivity reaction in the form of angioedema - fluid accumulating in the subcutaneous space - secondary to that Lyme vaccination. There's no reason to treat unless Macy appears uncomfortable. These reactions usually abate within a few days after appearing. If not, a systemic corticosteroid such as prednisone can be administered.
