Customer Question

My dog has a raw rear left paw. He runs with me several times a week and has never shown any irritation. The first I noticed his paw was when I got home from work today and he had a limp.

Hi there. Thanks for the question. Let me see if I can help. I'm sorry to hear that Lenny is hurt. Perhaps he ulcerated the foot or got a small cut while running and the started licking at it and made it into a raw sore. I would recommend the following....

- clean it gently with warm water or saline (like for rinsing eyes)

- dry it

- apply human neosporin plus a little human cortisone cream

- keep Lenny from licking it. You can put a human sock on the leg if he will leave that alone.

Repeat this daily for 3-4 days. It should start to look significantly better. He will have to take a break from running during this time. If it not improving , then he needs to go in to see a vet. I hope this helps. Best of luck.

Hi Edward,
I'm just following up on our conversation about Lenny. How is everything going?
