Customer Question

I fed dog some corn. Today he is having trouble with his but. He keeps dragging on the floor. I cleaned with a wiping tissue and some some rust color. He cannot reach it to lick it. He also seems to be bloated, I gave him some Pepto Bismal. Is this anything serious, he is over weight but have been feeding him less?????

I have had lots of dogs, one had a serious problem that needed stomach surgery, but have never had one bleed from the rectum.

That's going to be the best way to get to the bottom of this, yes. There are a variety of problems that can cause these symptoms, and some of them are serious. Because of that, it's best to take a "better safe than sorry" approach and have him seen sooner rather than later.
