Customer Question

I have a 75lbs husky who ate 2,
200 mg ibuprofen pills that were left on a nightstand. He ingested them within the last four hours but I just noticed them missing about thirty minuets ago. I induced vomiting with hydrogen peroxide as soon as I saw he had eaten them. His vomit looked normal just a lot of kibble, he is currently showing no symptoms. Is this an emergency necessitating a get visit or did I catch it in time?

Please don't be alarmed. It takes 50 mg/lb of ibuprofen to cause serious gastrointestinal ulceration in dogs - 3,750 mg for your Husky. His stomach might be a bit irritated from the combination of the ibuprofen and peroxide but he's certainly not intoxicated. There's no reason to treat in any manner at this time. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish. I have to leave my computer for the night but I promise to reply in the morning if need be.
