Customer Question

My 2 year old rescue, female, is dripping blood rectally, bloody urine. Woke up to this all over the house. Have no idea what it is! We have 2 other dogs who are fine...she's always been a bit unhealthier than the others, she got a rough start in life. Thoughts?

If you're seeing bleeding from more than one orifice, thrombocytopenia (low blood platelets) and an anticogulant rodenticide poisoning are on the top of my differential diagnosis list. Blood dyscrasias such as hemophilia and acute leukemias need to be considered as well. Whatever the etiology of her bleeding, she represents a patient in need of urgent attention by her vet. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
