I have a 14.5 year old ***** ***** that we just moved to Portland from la. His energy has dropped over this week and now he is wheezing and coughing incl not wanting to lay down completely. He has since birth been diagnosed w an enlarged heart. But no murmurs found during an X-ray blood work good in July 2015.

I understand that he appeared healthy 4 months ago, but during that exam and those tests he also wasn't showing any signs of being sick. Now that he appears ill at home, it is very likely we will find different results on those tests.

I highly recommend having her evaluated by your local vet. I would start with a physical exam and x-ray of his chest. I'm concerned about the possibility of congestive heart failure. If that is confirmed, we can use several medications to control these signs, including furosemide, enalapril and Vetmedin.
