Our dog just had major surgery. Our vet removed a toy from his stomach on Wednesday. After two nights at the hospital he returned home last night . He urinate last night some but has not urinated since. It has been 30 hours. Is this ok ?

We have walked him slowly on the grass however it didn't help. How can we encourage him to go. Please advise. Tks

Has he ingested his usual amount of water over the last 30 hours? While a general anesthetic also anesthetizes the bladder and causes urinary retention because patients can't feel when to urinate, it's been far too long to blame an anesthetic.
