Hello, I'm Dr. Deb and will do my best to help you today.

There's a fairly large margin of safety with these antacid products. Even though they do contain calcium carbonate, the absorption of calcium from this product is poor which means that significant side effects are rarely seen.

While 24 is a fairly large amount to ingest at one time, most likely the only significant side effect might be diarrhea (most commonly seen) or possibly constipation.

Should the stools become loose, a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice should return the stools to normal within a relatively short period of time.

If constipation issues develop, then 1-2 teaspoons of canned pumpkin twice a day should be of help.

I hope this helps to reassure you that your dog is not at risk for any toxicity issues. Deb
