Customer Question

I believe my friends dachsund ate a bar of tomcat mouse poison which contains bromadiolone, which states one bar can kill 12 mice. His dog is about three years old and doesn't way over 15 pounds.

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Please consider this a courtesy post. If your friend's doxi has already been attended to, please feel free to disregard my post. Bromadiolone is one of the more safe anticoagulant rodenticides to dogs. It would take at least 53 ounces of bromadiolone to be lethal to this dog and there surely isn't that amount of bromadiolone in one bar. To make sure that he's not bleeding internally, his clotting times (PT/PTT) can be checked 48 hours after ingestion of that poison.
