My 9 yo shitzu dog is staggering, holding herself up on

Customer Question

My 9 yo shitzu dog is staggering, holding herself up on walls, vomiting, panting, sometimes howels in pain (normally rarely makes a sound). Vet twice, X-rays show no back or hip problem. Can't afford to spend any,ore money.

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Your second post mentioned continual pacing and that's the clue for encephalopathy (brain disorder) involving the forebrain - cerebrum and thalamus. Lola's ataxia (staggering) and vocalizing are supportive evidence of encephalopathy which includes brain tumor at her age, stroke, and immune-mediated encephalopathies such as granulomatous meningoencephalitis (GME) and steroid-responsive vasculitis. I regret that her prognosis is grave and having the final kindness performed should be considered. I understand your financial constraints. Even unlimited funds can rarely help these patients. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish. I can't mark your second post as a duplicate and so please contact***@******.*** so you won't be charged twice.
