Liothironine is a form of thyroid hormone (T3) with little effect on dogs. The majority of T3 comes from conversion of T4 to T3 in peripheral tissues. 180 x 5 mcg = 900 mcg or 0.9 mg. This is just above the highest dose of T4 given to hypothyroid dogs every 12 hours. 0.9 mg of T3 should go unnoticed in Gus and so no treatment is necessary.
