Dog was given hydromorphone injection about 6 hours ago.... Now she is awake and crying... Do not know what is wrong

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. The duration of action of hydromorphone is only 2-4 hours depending upon the dose and pain severity. Why was it administered, please? Do have an oral analgesic to give once that opiate has worn off?

She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma with lung metastasis on Wednesday. We have tramadol but she won't take the pills... It seems she might be going down hill faster than I thought or our specialist told us... Could it really be moving this fast? We want to spend every moment with her we can, but I don't want her to suffer... Torn as it is a holiday weekend...

Oh my. Yes, such a cancer is unpredictable. Buprenorphine given as a very small volume of liquid between her cheek teeth and cheek should be considered for Willow. It's longer lasting and more potent than hydromorphone. If she won't accept such dosing you have little recourse and euthanasia might well be a kindness.
