My dog suddenly got very red and irritated eyes yesterday.

Customer Question

my dog suddenly got very red and irritated eyes yesterday. he has a hard time keeping them open. I took him to the vet and he said it was probably an alleric reaction and gave me antibiotic drops. I have administered them 3 times now. but it does not seem to be getting better. what could this be?

I'm a bit puzzled. If Mack's vet thought that Mack suffered from an allergic reaction, why was an antibiotic drop prescribed and not an antihistamine- or antihistaminic corticosteroid-containing drop prescribed? I can see why Mack doesn't seem to be getting better. Please give the vet a call and see if perhaps the wrong drop were prescribed.
