I am sorry to hear you are worried about Bobby. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.

If your vet heard crackles, there could be fluid in his lungs. This can be caused by heart disease. Did your vet mention a heart murmur at all?

I might consider a chest Xray, and if the heart is enlarged or there is fluid in the lungs, then there are medications that might help: Lasix to reduce fluid, Vetmedin to help the heart, enalapril or benazapril to reduce blood pressure.

Let me know what else I can help with or answer.
